Dr. Pauline Brito is pleased to inform you that she uses the safest feline rabies vaccine on the market...Merial pureVax which is specifically made for cats.

Why use PureVax??

This vaccine does not contain adjuvants which all other rabies vaccinations do. Adjuvants are substances added to a killed vaccine to increase the body's immune response to the vaccine.

Unfortunately, adjuvants have been known to cause anaphylactic vaccine reactions, and significantly increase the risk of vaccine associated sarcomas (CANCER at vaccination sites) in cats.

The vaccines is an annual vaccine and can be given with the other annual vaccinations.

For those of you who want a 3 year rabies vaccination, I will continue to offer the Pfizer Defensor 3 rabies vaccination.  Although the annual vaccination may be an inconvenience and an added expense, I feel the peace of mind associated with a safer vaccine is well worth it.
